How do you explain type 2 diabetes?
There are many people who have a hard time understanding what the differences are between type 1 and 2 diabetes. Out of the two different types of diabetes that people can acquire, type 2 diabetes is the one that is the most common. As a matter of fact, out of all the individuals who suffer from diabetes, as many as 95% suffer from type 2 diabetes.
It has also been found through study and research that as many as 80% of all people that suffer from diabetes are overweight. Although the body’s system may be producing adequate amounts of insulin, the body is unable to use it as it should, and this is referred to as being insulin resistant. Instead of glucose being effectively broken down, the system builds the glucose up in the bloodstream, causing type 2 diabetes, and there are also a variety of other problems that can occur. Since the body is unable to obtain the fuel it needs for adequate energy, individuals with this type of diabetes will often feel fatigued and sluggish. Individuals that choose to not have this type of diabetes treated can very quickly end up in a life or death situation.
